Hey guys, I wanted to provide you some general information and history about Facebook.
Facebook is an online social networking site that many people use today. It was launched on February 4, 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, the current founder and CEO of the company. Zuckerberg was a Harvard university student when he launched the website, but soon after his sophomore year, he left his school to spend more time on his company Facebook and expand it.Facebook was originally created to provide social networking between Harvard students only, however he expanded it to universities in Boston area, the Ivy League, Stanford University and then eventually to the entire world. The users can post texts, photos, videos, play games, join groups and become friends with others to constantly be connected to each other.
Today, it is considered one of the most powerful and influential source of mass media, and with 1.3 billion active users around the world as of 2014, this company is changing the world nothing like in the past. The entire company is worth $212 billion.
